Born: February 20, 1949 Primary Instrument: Vocal
I am a music performer and a program administrator with a background in arts, education and co-operatives. I’ve been active as a jazz singer and educator on the Vancouver music scene for over 30 years. I have toured across Canada and into the US to perform at many major jazz festivals, I present a regular schedule of voice workshops, I direct a community choir and I recently released my second CD under my own name. I believe jazz is a saving grace within our North American culture. My aim is to further develop my ability to create and deliver programs which support healthy and creative community living, specifically singing good music and singing it well.

“Individually, there were several standouts. Colleen
Savage is a natural gospel singer with a powerhouse
voice. Either leading the ensemble or belting out a
solo number (“Merry Christmas, Baby”), she made it
clear that sit next to her Christmas tree and you’ll get
scorched.”
