Manfred Leuchter is without doubt one of the most established (ethno-) jazz- and world-music accordion virtuosos in Europe. In recent years he has given euphorically-received tours all over the world with his quintet, managed hugely successful CD productions and has been part of very diverse and exciting musical projects. Not only in the purely musical sense a world-traveller, Manfred Leuchter has developed his very own musical concept between occident and orient, collecting many impressions and forming them - with tolerance and open-mindedness - into his unique world style, in which he artistically and playfully combines elements from very diverse (music-) cultures.
Sounds from Bach to Bagdad was how a German daily newspaper described the music of the global-player Manfred Leuchter. In addition to the well-established ZINA-quintet or quartet there is now a fascinating new concept in a new format: OrientXpress. In a semi-acoustic trio, genial hand- picked master musicians interpret Leuchters old favourites and new compositions. Beside Manfred Leuchter on the accordion there is the Iranian percussionist Afra Mussawisade on an unbelievable collection of percussion instruments, and the German guitarist and (electronic) sound-designer Florian Zenker.
Accept the invitation and enjoy the ZINA-Quintet or get on board the OrientXpress! It will take on an exciting exotic journey through fascinating multi-cultural musical landscapes. (Gabriele Kleinschmidt Promotions)
