David Strother

David Strother is an improvising electric violinist and composer in Southern California. His latest CDs, “soundings.live” and “the desert is singing,” are available at cdbaby.com and Itunes and other outlets. His recording credits also include CPD's experimental opus “The Process,” Alternate Faith's “Out of Nowhere,” and Susan J. Paul's “Big Love,” among others. More recent CD appearances include two tracks on rapper Tito “Stretch” Calloway's great album, “Thugelligence;” the remixed edition of Davie Gayle's “Amber in the Clay;” Scot Ray's magnificent “Earth Circuit;” and Lawrence Lebo's '”Don't Call Her Larry, vol. 3.” Film and TV appearances include David Lynch's “The Straight Story” (with the Radio Ranch Straight Shooters) and the animated Nickelodeon series “Doug.”

David Strother is an NS Design artist and plays that company's CR-5 electric violin as his primary instrument. His primary amps are the Fishman Loudbox Performer and Fender Blues Junior. His pedal board includes the Line 6 DL4 and Verbzilla, Boss DD-7, and Dunlop Cry Baby wah wah pedal.
