After studying classical piano for 10 years under the tuition of his father, Dominic was awarded the Alan Hawkshaw scholarship to study jazz at Leeds College of Music. During his three year tenure he played at major jazz venues and festivals around the UK (including Manchester Jazz Festival and Seven Arts Centre) and worked alongside some of the finest musicians from the north of England such as Jesse Bannister, Chris Bussey, Eddie Hick, Dave Kane and Nik Svarc.
In early 2010 one of Dominic's original compositions 'Counting Pennies' was broadcast on BBC Radio 3’s Jazz Line-Up, and in summer he went on to win the prestigious LCM Piano Prize. Since relocating to Amsterdam in autumn of the same year he has continued to build his international profile as composer-performer whilst continuing formal studies on the Conservatorium's Masters program. In April 2011 he received The Countess of Munster Musical Trust Award for young British musicians of exceptional ability, helping to finance the second year of his Postgraduate.
