Saxophonist, flutist and composer/arranger Kris Jensen is a versatile musician that resides in Connecticut, USA.
He has performed throughout the U.S., Canada, Switzerland, The Caribbean, Bangkok, Thailand and is associated with many well known musical acts including the Allman Brothers Band and it's individual members' bands (Gregg Allman and Friends, Jaimoe's Jasssz Band, Dickey Betts Band), trumpet legend Maynard Ferguson and members of Connecticut's world class jazz community including Mark Templeton, Nat Reeves, Steve Davis, Phil Bowler, Jesse Cheese Hameen, Rohnnie Lawrence and many others. Jensen both attended the University of Hartford and taught there under the auspices of jazz saxophone legend Jackie McLean and continues to carry on the great tradition as both a performer and educator. Recent performances have included concerts with jazz legends Phil Woods and Larry Willis. Jensen is also an active member of a few other acclaimed ensembles based in Connecticut including the popular latin jazz, salsa group Orq Espada, the Val Ramos Flemenco Ensemble, Jeff Pitchell and Texas Flood, Beau Bolero and most recently the NEW Matt Zeiner Band. He has appeared on Late Night with David Letterman with Gregg Allman & Friends and on stage with The Allman Brothers Band, The Dave Matthews Band and with Warren Haynes and Govt. Mule. In 1996 Jensen was a semi-finalist in the prestigious Thelonious Monk International Saxophone Competition.
