Dorian Wallace is an American composer, pianist, web-host, writer, and teacher. His career has experienced a diverse musical palette including orchestral, jazz, classical dance, electronic, film, opera, musical theater, hip-hop, and rock. He is Founder/Artistic Director of both Trystero and Dorian Wallace and His Big Band. He plays piano and keyboard in Avant-garde jam band, Ammo Cake. Wallace is currently Host/Creator of Impulse Control, an online show about life and people. He is also associated with superhero rock band, The JUSTICE Team, but no one is quite sure how.
Currently accompanying dance for The Julliard School, The Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance, and Purchase College Conservatory of Dance, he has also worked and collaborated with The Jose Limón Dance Institute, RIOULT Dance Company, Mark Morris Dance Group, TrioDANCE Collective, Kent State University Dance Division, and ACDFA as pianist and percussionist for Contemporary Dance and Ballet.
An active musician in the US ARMY National Guard, he currently serves in the 63rd Army Band as pianist.
Wallace began playing piano at age 4 and composing at age 7. He continued his studies at Kent State University under Sebastian Birch, Pat Pace, Tom Janson, Frank Wiley, and Chas Baker.
He has had pieces performed by and collaborated with such prestigious artists as The Cleveland Orchestra Piano Trio, Kathryn Alter, David Kulma, Hernando Bensuelo, Ayn Sof Arkestra and Bigger Band, Christopher Rudy, Bobby Selvaggio, Frank London, Jazz Rabbi Greg Wall, Bill Sallak, Romulus Mihalteanu, Joe Vitale Jr., Madison Cano, TrioDANCE Collective, and many more. He has had music performed all around the country including New York City, NY, Cleveland, OH, Paris, FR, Mexico City, MX, Chicago, IL, and Los Angeles, CA.
