A finalist in the Uk's first National Jazz Piano Competition, Tom studied Music at New College, Oxford University, gaining an instrumental scholarship. Whilst at Oxford he played regularly as a classical pianist (including solo recitals, chamber music and as a vocal accompanist) whilst also playing in and then directing the Oxford University Jazz Orchestra. He completed his Masters in Jazz piano at Trinity College of Music in 2009, and now leads his own group 'Treehouse' featuring Calum Gourlay and Lewis Wright, who have performed across London and at festivals including the 2010 London Jazz Festival, and the 2011 Oxford Jazz and Canterbury Festivals. Tom has played at some of London's top venues including the Purcell Room, Southbank Centre and the 606 Club with many of the country's leading jazz musicians. In November 2012 he is releasing a CD of solo piano music entitled 'Slightly Peculiar'.
