Primary Instrument: Trumpet
Andrew Hoglund was born in Portland, Oregon. He started playing piano at the age of five. At the age of 12 his musical talents were recognized by the leadership at his church and he was encouraged to play trumpet in the church band. After high school he went on to attend the University of Oregon majoring in Trumpet Performance with an emphasis in Jazz Studies where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in 2001. After graduating, Andrew worked as a freelance musician and composer. During that time he lead and recorded a jazz quintet, played in salsa bands, traveled the world playing on a cruise ship, and played in the worship team at his local church. In 2003 Andrew decided to move to New York City to continue a career of performing and recording music. Soon after arriving in New York City he started attending Times Square Church. It was then that he felt the call to rededicate his music to the Lord and gave up his pursuit of a career in music. Since 2006 Andrew has served at Times Square Church in the music ministry as the trumpet player for the regular weekly services. He can also be heard playing on the recordings “New Songs 2” and “Live Worship 3”, release by the TSC music.
