Patrick Andy

Patrick Andriantsialonina aka Patrick Andy was born and raised in Madagascar. He began playing guitar at a young age and bass at 17 and it wasn’t long before he began playing with Madagascar's most prominent artists. Soon thereafter, music would take him abroad to places like Paris, Geneva, and his soon to be home New York City. He has had the honor of working with: Christian artists Andrae Crouch, Donnie McClurkin, Ivory McDonald, Joanne Rosario, Freddy Rodriguez, Uche Agu, Rene Gonzalez, The Christ Tabernacle Youth Choir,  Latin artists Obie Bermudez, Liz Menezes, Singers Wyclef Jean, Nikki Yanofsky, Aaradhna, Stephanie Mckay, bassists Meshell Ndengeocello, Matt Garrison, Reggie Young, singer songwriter Rachel Brown, jazz singers Malika Zarra, Kavita Shah, from the World Music scene such artists as Vieux Farka Toure, Emeline Michele, Razia Said, Diblo Dibala, Abdoulaye Alhassane, pianist Meddy Gerville, and musician/producer Jamba Castro and Clay Bogan among others. He recorded with jazz drummers Francisco Mela, Chris Dave, Chris Coleman, Nat Townsley, Obed Calvaire, and guitarist Lionel Loueke, Nir Felder , trumpeter Jeremy Pelt and sax player Greg Tardy and Bob Franceschini, as well as playing alongside Mike Stern, Leni Stern and John Scofield. He was part of the faculty at the Boden Center for the Arts in the Bronx and was commissioned to conduct a workshop at New School of Music in NY. Some of the well known venues/festival Patrick has played in, are: Blue Note, Madison Square Garden, Barclays Center, B.B Kings, ShapeShifter Lab, Zinc Bar, 55 Bar, Montreux Jazz Festival, Couleur Cafe Festival (Brussels - Belgium), Summer Misk Festival (Beirut - Lebanon), Baloise Session (Switzerland), New Orleans Jazz Festival. In 2011-2012, he was the band director of “Standing in Babylon Theatrical Concert” with Sam Cintron. In 2006 he became an integral part of the Times Square Church music ensemble as a bassist. He is also part of the Rock Band "Merce". They released their first album in 2013, and has played in Brazil and U.S. 
In 2010, he releases his long awaited CD "JOY", which was brilliantly co-produced with Jamba Castro. The CD features a stellar cast of some of New York's finest musicians such as guitarists Eli Menezes, Tim Reyes  and Ricardo Ramos, drummers Manny Laine, Sean Phekoo and Jahphet Landis, keyboardists Dave Rodriguez, Jamba Castro, Joel Weiskopf, vibraphonist Bryan Carrott, sax player Greg Tardy, violin player Christian Howes, accompanied by well respected and known vocalists in the Christian music scene.
