June Thomas

June Thomas is a jazz vocalist/pianist who has played with regional jazz and r&b artists for over twenty years, including PF & the Flyers, Rissmiller/Thomas jazz group, Mike Dugan, Maria Woodford, Todd Wolfe and others. She has completed her MM in Jazz Studies degree at the University of the Arts as well as having completed Level I of Somatic Voicework training under instruction by Jeanette LoVetri . She is a student of Hindustani vocalist Arati Shah-Yukich and has studied Indian vocal mnemonics with Philadelphia percussionist Lenny Seidman. Her jazz studies include private piano lessons with Joanne Brackeen & John Scully. As a private voice and piano teacher at Muhlenberg College (Allentown, PA) and the Lesson Center (Bethlehem, PA), June has been able to translate her love of music to others while amassing a supportive following in the Lehigh Valley. Her current jazz group is an exciting hybrid of mainstream jazz and world fusion featuring many original compositions and arrangements. She is sought after by local and regional jazz and blues acts as a keyboardist/pianist and vocalist, as well as jazz & blues workshop facilitator.

June has performed with jazz artists such as: Jimmy Heath, Dave Liebman, George Young, Bill Goodwin, Scott Lee, Phil Markowitz,, Duane Eubanks, John Swana, Bootsie Barnes, Gary Rissmiller, Tom Kozic and others. She has opened for Joe Henderson, Natalie Cole, and Woody Herman's Thundering Herd. Ms. Thomas has worked as musical director and/or accompanist for many theatrical production houses along the east coast, including the Sherman Theater's Pocono Lively Arts, PA Lyric Opera Company, Phillipsburg Summer Youth Theater,and Allentown's Repertory Dance Company. She was guest conductor/arranger for the Berks Jazz Festival's Youth Jazz Choir (2013) & guest choral adjudicator for 2013 Festival of Music & Music in the Park series.

June is conductor/arranger for the PA Jazz Collective's Jazz choir (2012-present).

June has contributed background vocals as a "Bobette" on Bob Dorough's latest cd release, "Duets" . The album was recorded at Red Rock Studios (Saylorsburg, PA) .

June supplied overdub vocals in the 2001 Miramax Movie release "City on Fire". a Far East production that has been re-released in a English format. This film is currently out on DVD and VHS.
