Terry Bartolotta

Jazz guitarist, composer, arranger, and educator Terry Bartolotta has been performing and teaching in the Chicago area since 2006. Since starting on guitar at the age of eleven, he has studied with a long list of guitarists and other musicians including: Fareed Haque, Art Davis, Bobby Broom, Ron Perrillo, Don Tisch, and Tom Matta. Bartolotta received his Bachelor's in Music from Northern Illinois University in 2006, and his Master's in Music from DePaul University in 2009. As a former member of both the NIU Jazz Ensemble and the DePaul Jazz Ensemble he has performed jazz masters like: Phil Woods, Jim McNeely, Rodney Whitaker, Conrad Herwig, Claudio Roditi, Charles McPherson, and Eddie Henderson.

Terry leads the Terry Bartolotta Group, which has been performing his original compositions at Andy's Jazz Club, the Green Mill Lounge, and other venues throughout Chicago. In July of 2012, the quintet celebrated the release of the debut cd, Above the Clouds. In addition, the group is featured as part of the Chicago Jazz Composer's Collective Series at the Green Mill.

In addition, Bartolotta teaches private lessons and guitar classes at College of Lake County in Grayslake, IL and at Harold Washington College in Chicago.
