Myles Bigelow

From Boston to Cuba, New York to Vancouver, this riddim- keeper has moved effortlessly from the sidelines into the production chair honing all the skills needed to work his magic on both skins and bass bins.

First recognized as conga soloist winner for the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival, He continued his studies at Berklee College of Music, Boston and at the University of Music in Havana, Cuba. He has toured and recorded with such acts as Orlando "Maraca" Valle (Grammy Nominee), K- OS (multi Juno winner), AlexCuba Band (multi Juno winner & Grammy Nominee), and Alpha Yaya Diallo (multi Juno winner).

With this world-class pedigree in hand Myles is bringing his knowledge bang up to the 21st century, fusing his influences as a musician/ producer to create a performance of modern day tropical scorchers for the dance floor! Mixing Latin, soul, Jazz, HipHop and electronica music, Myles has developed a sound that represents the knowledge of tradition with a vision of tomorrow. He has put out multiple releases and remixes with labels such as Future Elements, Borderline, Delecto and his own label Deep Culture Music. Myles performs as a dj, vocalist and percussionist for different bands and events alongside a live performance of his own that incorporates all these skills together.

This year Myles turns his attention to his solo performance, the shows display all of what Myles has to offer as a live performer. This live performance turns swirling synths, latin percussion, improvosation and MC'ing into an up tempo, global street party. Well before the release of his album, his performance has been lighting up clubs everywhere and opening for choice acts.

Running at a high pace, Myles Bigelow plays over 80 shows a year, including his weekly nights in Vancouver and shows abroad. With the anticipation of his new album, this year promises to be the busiest yet. This is living, breathing, forward thinking music- the progressive party sound!
