New Pony

New Pony is an electrifying funk band from Philadelphia. Steeped in classic funk and soul like The Meters, Tower of Power, James Brown, and Stevie Wonder, New Pony brings a tenacious groove and a sanctified mission to shake your soul to the party. The musicianship is tight, the song writing is polished, and the chemistry between the band members translates into an electric energy on stage that draws in every crowd and doesn't let them go. The Philadelphia City Paper recently said of them, "they groove, they rock, they make you dance and they throw one of the best parties around." Since forming, New Pony has become one of the most sought after and entertaining bands on the local and regional scenes. And in 2011, they aded a part time horn section into the mix for larger shows. Their schedule takes them to most of the top venues in Philly, as well as all over Bucks, Montgomery, Delaware, Northampton, Berks, and Chester counties. The band also makes regular trips to Baltimore, NYC, Delaware, and the Jersey shore. They've been a featured performer at some of the region's top festivals and they've opened for a number of national acts including The Budos Band, Big Sam's Funky Nation, Bernie Worrell, Papa Grows Funk, The Main Squeeze, and Robert Randolph and the Family Band. New Pony is available for any and all occasions. For booking, see the contact us page. Members:
