Nihad Hrustanbegovic

Nihad Hrustanbegovic is the Bosnian/Dutch composer, concert accordion artist and pianist. During the music education in Bosnia and Herzegovina Nihad Hrustanbegovic won the first price at the Bosnian and ex YU music competition in 1991 as the soloist and the first price with the chamber orchestra in 1990. In September of 1995 Nihad Hrustanbegovic continued music education in Kingdom of Netherlands at ArtEZ in Arnhem where he received the degree Bachelor in 2000 and in 2002 degree Master of Music with Cum Laude. Nihad Hrustanbegovic made since 2007 5 solo albums: 1th ‘The Best of Concert Accordion’ , presented in Dutch TV Show De wereld Draait door"; 2th ‘Opus 7 The Cross over’ presented in Het Concertgebouw Amsterdam which received the quote in Dutch News Paper Trouw: “What Pablo Casals did for emancipation of the cello, and Astor Piazzola of the bandoneon is Nihad Hrustanbegovic doing for accordion. He gives a ‘poor man’s piano’ admirable place at the Concert stage”; 3th ‘Live in Het Concertgebouw Amsterdam’ which received the quote in Dutch News Paper “Nihad Hrustanbegovic is one of the best accordion player in the world. He brings the interpretation and compositions on his records on the natural way and combines classic with jazz, world music and pop ”; 4th ,Sevdah for Petronella - Nihad Hrustanbegovic plays The Piano, the first sevdah solo piano album in the history of music and the 5th Black Orpheus - Nihad Hrustanbegovic plays Jazz recorded in the Music Centre Pavarotti Mostar, Bosnia-Hercegovina. In April 2007, Hrustanbegović' first composition "Wereld promenade" became the music for the Heineken Extra Cold TV commercial. In 2011 Nihad Hrustanbegovic has composed the soundtrack Balkan Sorrow and played together with Swiss Orchestra for the short movie 'Zimmer 606´ of Peter Volkart which become the Winner of several national and international film awards. Nihad Hrustanbegović has performed at more than 1000 concerts and cultural events in Europe including: in 2009 with Grace Jones in Paradiso, The Jazz Orchestra of The Concertgebouw Amsterdam in the Great Concert Hall, in Metropool with Al Di Meola; solo accordion concerts in The Concertgebouw Amsterdam in 2010, 2011, 2012, Ambiance solo accordion film concert during the opening of the 19th Sarajevo Film Festival in 2013, in 1998 in the presence of Her Majesty the Dutch Queen Beatrix in in the Concert Hal Vredenburg Utrecht, with the Dutch band Flairck and Mediterranean Sundance in 2001 – 2006 in 113 Dutch theatres and at music and cultural events as soloist in Granada, London, Dubrovnik, Budapest, Berlin, Vienna and Zürich.

In 2008 Award by Bosnian community Platoform BiH and Mladi BIH in Netherlands ‘Personality of the year 2007’. -
