Pedro O. Moore Sr

Minister Pedro Moore began his musical venture as early as kindergarten under the masterful teaching of the late Bernard Sneed. Mr. Sneed’s gifted piano playing skills commanded attention and he gave Min. Moore the initial lessons in music. In 1972 while attending St. Mary’s Elementary School, in passing by the band room, the sound of a saxophone resonated through the hallways. It was evident that there was no sweeter sound. After the inquisitive second grader, was told that he could get in the band as a fourth grader, Minister Moore informed his parents that he could now join the band. The Lord allowed Pedro’s parents to take him at his word, so they purchased his first saxophone. Mr. Peterson, the band director, was convinced (by Pedro) once this determined student returned to school with a new sax, that the child (Pedro) would be killed (punished old school), so he finally allowed him in the band. In 1974 Pedro was transferred to St. Francis of Assisi where he played until 1978 under the tutelage of Joseph Terrell. W.A. Berry High School was where he was introduced to a different style of music than he was accustomed as he was the only child of his decent….., thanks Mr. Simmons and Mr. Perkins.

Second Avenue Beulah Baptist Church of Bessemer Alabama, Dr. C.D Patterson is pastor, is where Pedro ministered in song the very first time playing the familiar song "Yes God Is Real". First Lady Rhonda Lewis (affectionately known to Pedro as Topsy), his cousin, gave him his second opportunity to play publicly a Gospel Classic “Amazing Grace” in the old building of Bethel Baptist Church of Pratt City Alabama, where her husband, T. L. Lewis served as pastor. It was shortly thereafter that Minister Moore realized that this was what he was called to do along with preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Thanks Dr. C. D. Patterson and Topsy! It has been his calling and lifelong dream to deliver The Word Of God by oratorically preaching and ministering in song. Pedro was called to preach as a teen, answered and was ordained in 2008, so under the divine inspiration of The Holy Spirit, family, and friends, he has committed to a lifelong journey of doing so. Over the years The Lord has allowed this gift to be shared among various Gospel Greats nationally. Pedro was a band member for Mose Tanksley and The Spiritual Crusaders of Bessemer Alabama.
