Born: March 21, 1950
Peter Brown has a reputation as one of the best keyboard players for pop, jazz and blues in the greater Ottawa area. He has been playing piano and other keyboards professionally for the past 25 years.
Peter is a polished and soulful performer in styles ranging from Chicago blues to boogie to bebop to country. He is valued as a member of the many bands he works with for his virtuoso chops, strong rhythmic drive, exciting solos, and the ability to support and inspire the musicians he plays with.
John Kelman, All About Jazz
Brown tackles jazz, blues, country, boogie-woogie, tango and the traditional Amazing Grace with obvious enthusiasm, great virtuosity, and an honest and practiced feel for music.
Bruce Deachman, The Ottawa Citizen, Feb. 2003
Franklin Street ... is a masterful work that both showcases and profiles the incredible talent that is Peter Brown. Musically, the collection is jazz in nature but features a full range of styles and influences that speak of the blues, showtime and class.
Lyle Dillabough, Mississippi Weekender
Think of a cross between A.J. Croce and Bill Evans - the pianist, not the saxophonist, and you've got Peter Brown. He's created a body of music that's plain delightful, his own compositions in particular.
T. Bruce Wittet, Muzik ETC, Sept./Oct. 2003
