Philippe Baden Powell

Philippe Baden Powell is a french-born carioca who’s artistry is influenced by both Brazilian and European Culture. He began studying piano at the age of 7 and quickly learned the basics of composition, harmony and improvisation from his Father ; legendary guitarist Baden Powell. He went to the Conservatório Brasileiro de Música in Rio de Janeiro and the Ecole Normale de Musique Alfred Cortot in Paris. In 2005 he was one of the winners of the Montreux Jazz Piano Solo Competition and moved to Europe to develop his own career.
