Preston-Glasgow-Lowe

Formed in 2011 Preston-Glasgow-Lowe are a new dynamic group consisting of 3 of London's most creative young instrumentalists. Sharing on-stage credentials with esteemed musicians such as John Scofield, the Foreign Exchange, Melody Gardot, Robert Mitchell, and Tommy Smith, they bring a unique and seasoned sound derived from their work as side-men combined with their shared love of improvisation, intricate composition, rhythm, and accessible melodies. Aiming to expand upon the format of the guitar trio they combine their virtuosic skills as soloists and accompanists with extensive composition and elaborate arrangements.

David Preston was born 1984 in London. He studied at Trinity College of Music, he has recorded and performed internationally with Melody Gardot, and toured the UK with Ian Shaw featuring on 3 of his albums and musically directing two of them. He has also worked with UK-based instrumentalists Martin Taylor, Barak Schmool & F-IRE Collective, Peter Ind, Zhenya Strigalev, Empirical & Ayanna Witter Johnson, Mark Mondesir, Mike Mondesir, Pete King, Julian Siegal and Guy Barker.

He has performed at the Glasgow, Edinburgh, Cheltenham, Cork and London Jazz Festivals as well as at London venues, Palladium, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Ronnie Scotts, the Vortex, 606, BBC Radio 1 & 3. As part of the 2010 Melody Gardot tour he also played at L'Olympia concert hall in Paris.

He has currently been involved in many diverse projects including leading the group Meridian with Empirical drummer Shane Forbes, recording a quartet EP of his own original compositions featuring Ernesto Simpson, Brandon Allen & Tom Farmer, MD to Ian Shaw, and writing with Melody Gardot earlier in 2012.

Kevin Glasgow was born in Inverness in 1983 to musical parents Dick and Sabine. When he was 9 years old the family moved to Northern Ireland, where he started learning guitar and playing traditional Irish music sessions with his parents.

At the age of 16 Kevin began playing bass guitar and later moved back to Scotland to study Popular Music at Napier University in Edinburgh. Whilst there he played regularly on the Edinburgh jazz circuit. Since graduating, he has played internationally at venues such as Ronnie Scott's, the 606, the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola (Lincoln Center NYC) and festivals such as Glastonbury, Xerox Rochester International, Edmonton International Jazz Festival Jazz Festival, Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival, the Isle of White Jazz Festival, the Glasgow International Jazz & Blues Festival, and the London Jazz Festival.
