Thanks for dropping in. Let me fill you in on what I've got happening. I'm a full-time music teacher and performer in the Atlanta area...and I've been doing it for a long time. In addition to my private studio, I am also Artist Affiliate in Jazz Saxophone at Emory University.
About five years ago I started writing educational jazz books. Using my personal students as guinea pigs, and I keep about 70 of them at any given time, I began by writing etude and duet books. It's escalated from there to include a jazz combo series designed for use in schools, workshops, or even private studios as a small group or individual improv method....

Randy accepts beginning through advanced level saxophone students. Beginning through intermediate level flute and clarinet students are welcome. Jazz improvisation lessons are available for students of all wind instruments, including brass players. As a full time private instructor and performing musician since 1985, Randy's studio has a long- standing record of helping to develop students of the highest caliber. His students consistently attain positions in all-state band, and many have gone on to pursue careers as performing musicians and professional music educators. Basic lessons stress the development of fundamental concepts including tone production, scales, reading, and phrasing skills. Jazz style and improvisation are introduced when and if appropriate according to the individual student's needs and desires.
