Robert Wells

This Swedish phenomena has been composing, singing and performing to sell-out crowds around the globe for the past 15 years with the "Rhapsody In Rock" concert series.

"Rhapsody In Rock" is an infusion of musical genres including classical, jazz, boogie-woogie, rock ‘n’ roll and blues, all seamlessly presented and performed by Wells and his orchestra.

Robert was a child prodigy, the youngest student ever to graduate from the Swedish Academy of Music in Stockholm and was the first artist ever to play at Stockholm’s grand Royal Castle.

His “Rhapsody In Rock” concerts have filled stadiums and arenas in China, Russia, Australia, Japan, Germany and Sweden. Here in the UK, Robert has repeatedly appeared at the Royal Albert Hall in London, most recently in 2011.

In concerts around the globe he has collaborated with many world famous artists and symphony orchestras, as well as appearing in such iconic venues as Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club & The Soho Jazz Club in London.

Robert’s arena shows and concerts have been enjoyed by millions of people, broadcast in the U.S.A. on PBS and seen by over 800 million in China via state run CCTV.

His CD’s and concert DVD’s are bestsellers around the world, with an impressive string of gold and platinum records to his name. In 2005 Robert and his “Rhapsody In Rock” show was awarded ”best public event” in Sweden and shortly thereafter, he was appointed Professor of Music at The Zezhyang University for Culture and Media in Huangzhou, China.

In 2007 Robert was thrilled to collaborate with Celine Dion by co-writing and playing the piano accompaniment on the track “A Song For You”, which was recorded by Celine in Las Vegas.

Back in Sweden, Robert was highly honoured to receive The Swedish King’s Medal from the King of Sweden himself for his “Outstanding Artistic Achievements In The Culture Sector”.

In November 2010 Robert released his first classical solo album “Close Up Classics” where he plays piano compositions scored by Liszt, Chopin, Beethoven, Stenhammar, Grieg, Rachmaninov and Debussy, and in late 2012 released his new double CD “Robert Wells Piano Concertos I-IX”, where he expertly plays both the classical and rock versions of each demanding piano concerto.
