Sandro Gibellini
Between 1988 and 1999 he played in the "Reunion" quintet with Danilo Rea and Roberto Gatto and recorded with Larry Schneider. In 1990 he became a member of "Keptorchestra" and in 1993 he released the CD "Felix" with his own band and "Funny Men" with Mauro Negri and Paolo Birro. Sandro Gibellini has also played on many records of the pop artist Mina.
In March 2000 he performed as a member of the Italian All-Stars in New York and at the North Carolina International Jazz Festival and in December 2000 in Cuba at the Havana International Jazz Festival.
In 2005 Sandro was principal guitar tutor at the Global Music Foundation international seminar of Jazz and World music. 2006 saw the launch of Sandro’s solo album “Trufo”, dedicated to the life of his favourite film maker, Francois Truffaut and Sandro’s first Irish visit for a concert and workshop tour, promoted by Sligo Jazz Project with the help of the Istituto Italiano di Cultura, Ireland.
