Rough Ramblers

SIMON GOLDING: Simon trained at Berklee in Boston at the beginning of the 90s, came back and played jazz, funk, fusion and not forgetting a whole lot of rock! Simon has been influenced by 70s rock, jazz and fusion artists especially Wayne Krantz, John Scofield, Mike Stern and Pat Metheny, One of his early recordings was at the BBC with the Forest Fire Big Band releasing an album called, 'It's Academic'. Having spent much of his time composing he released his fusion trio Rough Ramblers’ album 'Dolls House' in 2003. He also composed and performed with jazzy chill-out band Urban Dwellers having supported Chaka Khan at the Hammersmith Apollo; and smooth soul and jazz group Heikatsu, which saw tracks on many compilations. Having toured in Europe for the last five years with cult band The Tarantinos and supporting diverse artists such as Pink and Limp Bizkit he is back to what he enjoys most; composing and playing fusion and releasing new album “Stiff Upper Lip”. This album sees Simon collaborating with multi-instrumentalist Jules Jackson playing bass and drummer Simon Pearson. He is a guitar tutor and a regular on the function scene leading in many London based band and Big Bands.
