Thomas Firth

Tom Firth has studied music education and performance at University of Michigan, Eastern Michigan University, The Detroit Arts Institute, Interlochen Arts Camp, Jackson Community College and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Spring Arbor University. He has received numerous awards for performance including the Wolftrap Young Artists Award, winner of the American Federation of Musicians Vocalist Competition and many other scholarship and competitive awards. Soloist with the University of Michigan's Men's Glee Club, choral performances with the Detroit Symphony and numerous solo engagements with the Jackson Symphony and other area orchestras. As a bassist, Tom has been performing in various jazz and pop combos for over 30 years and has several recording performances to his credit in contemporary, jazz and "classical" genres. A capable soloist on the bass as well, Tom is a great addition to any rhythm section in the straight or fusion jazz, funk and R&B veins.
