Born: April 29, 1969    

Originally from Norway, Thomas Winther Andersen now lives in Amsterdam. He toured in Europe and the USA with different musicians and bands. Among the musicians Thomas has worked with are: Håkon Storm , Jimmy Halperin, Lee Konitz, Sheila Jordan, Jasper Blom, Robert Rook, Michiel Borstlap and John Engels.

Thomas has composed many pieces for various jazz ensembles, music for large ensembles and chamber music. His compositions have been recorded for Norwegian and Dutch radio and many of them are available on CD recordings. On June 11th 2013 Winther-Storm won the 12th Independent Music Award with the cd Spinnaker Category: Jazz Album Trance Formations" from the cd Patchwork won Third Place in the Jazz category at the 2010 International Songwriting Competition. Jury members were John Scofield, Terence Blanchard and McCoy Tyner:
