Tommy Kesecker

Tommy Kesecker has been performing and teaching around the San Francisco Bay Area for more than 30 years. In the early 80’s he was performing on Drum Kit in Rock Bands and decided to concentrate his efforts on Vibes and percussion. He graduated from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and joined Zakir Hussain and the Rhythm Experience. The group thrives on odd meters and percussive compositions. Tommy has enjoyed freelancing, recording, and being a sideman in a wide variety of musical situations.

Tommy has performed with Zakir Hussain(Midi Vibes and MalletKat), Larry Vuckovich Blue Bulkan Ensemble(Marimba), Jim Campilongo(Drum Kit, Marimba), George Brooks(Vibes), Illana Parker(Drum Kit). Currently Tommy is co-leading the Klobas/Kesecker Ensemble and the debut CD ‘No Gravity’ was released in early 2008. Playing original music is a great passion and has performed with Noel Jewkes, Larry Vuckovich, Murisaki Ensemble, Zakir Hussain and the Rhythm Experience.
