Tom Thorndike began formal training on the piano at age 12, and in high school performed in rock and jazz groups, giving him a musical versatility. Thorndike attended the University of Connecticut from 1999-2002 where he continued his classical and jazz piano studies. Thondike's composition “Groove In Black” as featured on the CD “Uconn Jazz,” marks his official debut recording as a pianist, composer and arranger. Upon graduating with a B.A. in 2002 Thorndike moved to Boston to attended Berklee on a scholarship. In 2006 he became a student of legendary piano and improvisation teacher Charlie Banacos...
