Vesna Petkovic

Vesna Petkovic was born in Niš (Serbia) 1974. European singer, specializing in jazz, contemporary jazz and ethno music. After finishing a classical music education in her home town she studied jazz singing at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz and graduated with a Master Degree in 2003, obtaining first-class honors and the federal “Appreciation Award in recognition of outstanding cultural contribution(Würdigungspreis)” handed over by the Austrian minister for Culture. Vesna Petković is well established as a versatile singer with astounding skills and impeccable taste, always energetic and innovative. In her own compositions and arrangements Vesna is connecting her traditional music with contemporary jazz, which can be heard on her debut album “A New One”(ZamaRecordings).... As in-demand singer she performed with many top musician including Dean Bowman, Stjepko Gut, Fritz Power, Evald Oberleitner, Dejan Pacenko, Kuba Staniewitz, Alex Deutsch, Marko Djordjevic, Jovan Maljokovic, Marko Markovic, Sheila Jordan, Martin Lubenov, Gaida Quartet (Bulgarian Bagpipes Quartet),Peter Ralchev ,Sandy Lopicic, Vasko Atanasovski, Dragan Deutovski, Tamara Obrovac, Natasa Mirkovic, Maja Osojnik, Irina Karamarkovic, Stefan Hantel, etc… She is well known to international audiences as a front singer of “Sandy Lopičić Orkestar”, “Sandala Orkestar”, “Shantel & Bukovina Club Orkestar” and in the last Years frequently with her own „Vesna Petkovic Group„.
