Aaron Benson

Aaron Benson is Australia's freshest voice on guitar. His influences reflect a passion for Soul, Jazz, Slinky R'n'B grooves, Latin and even a touch of Uptown Blues all adding up to his own signature sound. His music is enjoyed in an unlimited array of settings and has garnered substantial acclaim in the U.S and Europe generated by the release of the new double C.D "After the Rush".

Born in Melbourne and having mastered a number of styles this latest foray has him venturing into new territory with outstanding results. Aaron's approach is to create something that sounds fresh but will also stand the test of time. An exceptionally melodic guitarist with a clear, vibrant and articulate guitar sound that also happens to ooze soul, a rare combination in these days of indistinguishable musicians.

"After the Rush"is a double C.D with a lot to offer. The first disc demonstrates Aaron's knack for melody and grooves with nine original songs and a slow-burning cover of "Practice what you Preach" originally written and recorded by Barry White. When it comes to stylistically comparisons this disc has been embraced by a variety of genres ie: Jazz, Smooth Jazz, Acid Jazz, R'n'B and the track "The Chase is on" has independently been given a remix treatment with a strong club appeal. The title "After the Rush" implies a chillout album, however the disc is proving it can cross many boundaries. The Bonus disc is a sublime collection of wisely chosen Soul/Latin/Classic and original songs arranged for solo guitar and is a real testimony to Aaron's flexibility as a musician/songwriter who can select superb songs that haven't been overdone.
