Alexandru Anastasiu

Music means nothing without the rythm, and this is something Alexandru Anastasiu has learned in his early childhood years, when he began studying piano. Later on he turned to percussion, series of instruments which in time have become a true passion. Hours in front of marimba and vibraphone have led him to be one of the best players in his country. As a percussion player, Alexandru Anastasiu has performed in orchestras, chamber music groups, percussion ensemble GAME and as soloist in concerts which were very much appreciated. Winner of Yamaha Scholarship in 2001 and granted with many prizes during his study years, Alexandru has developed a special love for vibraphone. He has been employed in several professional orchestras ( Giurgiu, National Opera Orchestra from Bucharest, Chamber Radio Orchestra Bucharest) he is now member of the National Radio Orchestra of Bucharest. Together with his coleagues he participated in three editions of the International Festival George Enescu. His training as a professional musician and his capacity of understanding the music were ones of the reasons he was invited to be member of the jury in important competitions ( National Percussion Contest ” Bucharest, 2003, “Mihail Jora” National Competition ” Bucharest, 2001).
