I want to help
Thanks you for taking the time to read my profile. Making music has been one of the great joys and journeys of my life - from Classical to Celtic to Bluegrass and finally into the world of Jazz. I have always loved the melodic sound of violin, guitars and double bass since my father took me a concert of the great French jazz violinist Stephane Grappelli when I was 12 years old and my journey began. Combine lovely melodies with improvisational opportunity and I am in heaven! It is my privilege to perform with three wonderful virtuostic musicians and it is always a pleasure sharing the stage with them.
The Scotsman - He is little short of masterful - his tone and phrasing are out of the top drawer.
Edinburgh International Jazz Festival - The most exciting instrumental lineup in years
Shetland International Music Festival - This group wowed the crowd with the dazzling virtuosity of their playing
Northern Italy International Jazz Festival - Expect world class for that is what you will get!
Edinburgh International Jazz Festival - Alex Yellowlees' style is reminiscent of the late Stephane Grappelli and he performs with much of the French maestro's melodic inventiveness.
Orkney Arts Festival - The Hot Club mix elegance and passion in a swinging jazz performance! Jazz violinists are a pretty rare breed with considerable technical and stylistic problems to master - yet Alex Yellowlees made it seem easy! His grace and agility were unmistakable and his finely crafted solos were a highlight of the evening
