Alfredo De La Fé

Grammy Nominated, Cuban born, New York based, Superstar violinist Alfredo De La Fé is a living musical legend.

Born in Cuba on February 6, 1954, Alfredo De La Fé began his musical studies at the fresh young age of six, and by the age of eight, was given a scholarship to study at the world-renowned Fryderyk Chopin University of Music (Warsaw Conservatory) in Poland. He then later continued his education at the Julliard School of Music in New York City.

After attending the finest music schools and conservatories, De La Fé made his mark on the music scene, as a premier solo violinist, composer, and arranger, and eventually would become one the greatest musical icons of our time, performing with many greats such as; Celia Cruz, Carlos Santana, Tito Puente, Eddie Palmieri, The Fania All Stars, Tipico 73, Papo Luca Y La Sonora Poncena, Ruben Blades, Hector Lavoe, Dave Valentin, and Dizzy Gillespie, to name a few…

De La Fé is a true virtuoso, his musical style draws on many genres including; Cuban, Jazz, Classical, Rock, Caribbean, Funk, Latin and Pop. There is no violinist who has contributed as much music and content in his tradition as he has. He is literally on most of the important recordings of (what is now known as) the Salsa revolution of the 70’s.

Today, De La Fé continues his musical journey as a solo violinist and bandleader performing his original compositions, and musically expressing the very soul and spirit of his fans worldwide. This is why his sound and style is so recognized and felt. He has the power to move an audience at the drop of a hat whether playing a ballad or a burning mambo.

Like the great Cuban bass maestro “Cachao”, De La Fé continues the tradition of greatness in all of his musical journeys. Wherever you see his name, you will find greatness.

Alfredo De La Fé is one of the keepers of the flame of the Latin and American musical experiences of our times. He breathes and lives the music of life.
