Alysa Haas

Cabaret artist ALYSA HAAS is a native New Yorker. She received her training in voice, musical theater and dance at Webster University and Fordham University and earned a Masters Degree in Speech Pathology at NYU. She studied voice and musical theater with Luba Tcheresky, Don Jones, Ellen Bullinger and Jan Callner. Her ballet instructors included such prominent teachers as David Howard, Peter Martins, Jayne Hillyer, and Mimi Wallace. She also attended master classes with Lucie Arnaz, Betty Buckley, and Adam Arkin, and studied Comedy Improvisation at The Groundlings in Los Angeles.

Alysa has appeared in community theater productions of Evita, On Your Toes, Oklahoma, Anything Goes, Working, Runaways, and the WestCo Production of Cinderella. Her film credits include: The Notebook, 100 Feet, Asylum, and The Split Cherry Tree. She teaches cabaret, musical theater, jazz dance, and improvisation to children and teens, and has directed and choreographed numerous musical theater productions.

Alysa grew up in a family of professional musicians. Her early exposure to music, dance and the arts shaped her exquisite approach to cabaret singing and her unique theatrical expressiveness. She has delighted audiences at: Don't Tell Mama, Rose's Turn, The Duplex, Cleopatra's Needle, and Brandy's Piano Bar. She also appeared at the Cab Calloway Awards at the Westchester Broadway Theatre.

Alysa is grateful to her wonderful musical arranger, Jeffrey Klitz, and to the stellar jazz musicians in her band who contribute to the unique and harmonious jazz interpretations presented on this CD.
