Originally from the US, Canniere spent the first five years of his career in New York City where he worked with artists such as Maria Schneider and Darcy James Argue. Canniere has toured widely throughout the United States and Europe with performances at Wigmore Hall, Carnegie Hall, Birdland, the London Jazz Festival, The Hague Jazz Festival and the Rochester International Jazz Festival.
Since his arrival in the UK, Canniere’s profile has been steadily rising, both as a solo artist and a collaborator. As a solo artist he has released two critically acclaimed albums for the Whirlwind Recordings label. Canniere’s debut Forward Space received rave reviews from the press in 2012 including a five star Guardian review. Jazzwise Magazine hailed it as one of the best recordings in a long time and included it in their ‘Albums of the Year’ list. Coalescence, released in 2013, was also lauded by the press and firmly established Canniere as “one of the most compelling artists on the current London jazz scene” (The Scotsman).
