Andres Lopez , a young musician, producer and educator was born in St. Catherine Jamaica. He spent years understudying many of Jamaica’s finest musicians. This exposure has had a tremendous influence on his development both as a performer and a producer.
He continued to develop his musical skill and style at his Alma Mater Charlemont High School where at seventeen under the leadership of Nigel Powell he became the school’s first band leader. The refining of his craft continued at Edna Manley School of the Visual and Performing Arts where he studied piano. While there he was a member of the jazz quartet ‘Wide Grin”. The quartet provided another avenue for him to further hone his skills by way of the many booked gigs they performed at.
After Edna Manley it was full steam ahead, he hit the international stage, performing with the likes of Chavelle Franklin, Sandra Brooks, Jah Mason, Etana, Fantan Mojah, Anthony B, Richie Spice and Mr. Perfect. He has also played for Big yute, Bush man, John Holt, Tony Rebel, Leroy Sibles, Johny Osbourne, Bugle, Althea Hewitt, Alaine, Chuck Fenda Max Romeo. Andres also played live shows such as Jazz and Blues Festival and Rebel Salute and other stages with Gumption band ,C sharp and many others.
A musician who is constantly in demand for all types of local gigs he also tours extensively across Europe, South America and the Caribbean with reggae artist Alborosie

The concert kicked off with Cuffe introducing the Edna Manley School of Music (EMC) Jazz Ensemble, comprising three current and three past students of the college. The former are Rafiq Williams (violin) and jazz singers Symone Thomas and Abbygaye Dallas, and the latter are Andres Lopez (keyboard), Alvis Reid (bass) and Jeremy Ashbourne (drums). Also playing with the group was an EMC lecturer, Courtney Fadlin (saxophone).
