Andrew Suvalsky's recently released jazz-pop CD, Vintage Pop and the Jazz Sides”, is about love as seen, tasted and experienced from all sides. The recording interprets and artfully meshes the line between two musical worldsjazz standards and classic pop songs.
Originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Andrew began his musical career as part of the Jackie Allen Jazz Improvisational Group in Chicago at the Old Town School of Music. Soon after he was regularly performing with the Old Town Jazz Finesse at the historic Fairmont Hotel and Chicago’s Up and Coming Jazz Review at Magnum Supper Club. He moved to New York in 1998 and produced and starred in his one-man show, “All I Want”. Having proved his jazz chops early on, many performances followed, both in New York and around the country. Of his recent sold-out performance at The Blue Note, John Hoglund of TheaterScene and Backstage wrote,
The jazz-swing stylist Andrew Suvalsky made an impressive showing at The Blue Note recently with two sold out shows making him worthy of formidable attention...(He) emotes a laid back, confident sexiness that endears him to his rabid fans
With the 2006 release of Vintage Pop and the Jazz Sides (LML Music) national exposure, with ongoing rave reviews, have and continue to amply fill Andrew’s resume. Poised for large-scale national attention, his shows and the CD firmly set Andrew within the small group of front runners to be considered worthy of special attention from the music world.
