Andy Lutkoff has been performing in SW Florida for over 25 years. He has performed with many of SW Florida’s top musicians including Joe Delaney, Jay Heavilin, Kevin Mauldin, Trimble McCullough, Doug Kirschner, Mickey Basil, Dave Morgan, Michael Baer, Tim Goodman, Brad Brown, and David Sarchet. In addition to leading various trios and quartets with the musicians above, Andy has lead the groups Straight Ahead and Saxdance. Both groups have been featured at Lee County Alliance of the Arts as well as at many venues in SW Florida. Andy is originally from NYC, but grew up in Richmond, Virginia. His musical roots go from early years studying classical sax and being heavily influenced by his mother who was a concert pianist, performing many of the classics at home. Growing up in the south Andy was also greatly influenced by Motown and R&B. At age 15 Andy was selected as lead alto sax in a Virginia regional workshop band. After taking 10 years off from music to pursue athletic endeavors, his education took him to both Berklee College of Music and Ohio University where he was tenor sax soloist in the jazz band. Andy earned a degree in psychology and a minor in music. Before relocating to Ft. Myers in 1987, Andy’s jazz fusion group, ERA, was featured at a concert for the NE Ohio jazz Society in Akron. For the last 31 years in Ft Myers, along with his periodic performances, Andy has owned 2 successful businesses, the most recent a real estate brokerage which he sold several years ago
