Bill E. Peterson

Born in St. Louis, MO, drummer Bill E. Peterson spent his formative years in Naples, Florida, where inspiration to become a professional musician took root. Forgoing a scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music, in Boston, Peterson opted to pursue a liberal arts education and play Division I soccer at Furman University, in Greenville, SC. With 3 years of education completed, highlighted by a Southern Conference Soccer Championship and a performance with the South Carolina All-College Jazz Ensemble, he transferred to the University of South Florida in Tampa to complete his undergraduate degree. As the drummer for USF's Jazz Ensemble and Combo I, Peterson performed with many renowned jazz artists including: Ron Blake, Jon Faddis, Mulgrew Miller, Ira Sullivan, Marvin Stamm and legendary drummer Louis Bellson. Professional live performance beckoned and Peterson abandoned his academic pursuits in order to pursue a music career in SW Florida. Since doing so, Bill has played with many notable regional and national artists including: Kenny Drew Jr, Fred Johnson, The Platters, Charlie Brent, Doug Cameron, Richie Cole, Davell Crawford, Othello Molineaux, Luther Kent, Noel “Paul” Stookey and Charo. Peterson currently plays with a variety of SWFL’s finest musicians. He resides in Naples, FL with his wife and three children.
