"When You Hear Music" reviews
"When your musical tastes and influences are as eclectic as those of nu-jazz guitarist Bob Burnett, it helps to not have to confine your prowess to the instrument’s traditional six strings. The seven-string guitarist, consummate sideman and longtime local musician has just released his latest disc, When You Hear Music, which bears a thoughtful collection of varied originals, ranging from the organic smooth jazz of “New Love” to the quirky, vintage stroll of “Igor’s Swing” to the keen flute, guitar and sax solos underscored by trafficscape in “Back East.”

"After having put his time in over the course of three decades as the consummate Santa Cruz working musician, he's certainly earned a place on the short list for honorary localhood..
