Brian D. Hudson

“The groove is the foundation of every song. My goal is to support the music and the artist with a solid groove and provide a strong foundation that will help the song excel.”

Atlanta, Georgia based musician Brian Hudson has been a first call drummer for both live and studio sessions for the past decade. He has performed hundreds of shows before tens of thousands of people covering a variety of genres including pop/rock, roots rock, jazz, contemporary jazz, singer/songwriter, blues, CCM, country, R&B, and funk.

Brian grew up in Clearwater, Florida and started playing drums at the age of 10. Like many others starting out, he banged on pots and pans and pillows until his parents bought him his first drum kit. In high school, Brian studied privately with Jason Harnell (Maynard Ferguson), played in the drum line, the stage band and with a local band. After high school, he attended The University of South Florida School of Music for a year and a half where he divided his playing between jazz combos, the symphony orchestra and playing with local jazz musicians around Tampa. He later transferred to the University of Georgia and the music town of Athens, Georgia where he played weekly with various singer/songwriters.
