Brian Dumont

Brian Dumont, 21, is a musician and composer from Wantagh, New York. Originally a guitarist since the age of eleven, Brian took interest in learning the Pedal Steel after being introduced to it during a private lesson at Five Towns College in 2014. He has since taken lessons from the phenomenal steel guitar expert John Widgren. Just as well, he immediately grasped the complex, harmonically-driven instrument in a way that continually yields sessions and perfomances that range from Country, Western Swing, Rock, Blues, Jazz, and Fusion music.

Although a very competent guitarist, Brian has been much more prolific as a performer with his unique approach to the Pedal Steel Guitar. He has a range of performance history in restaurants, festivals, colleges, private events, and even some larger venues, such as the Freedom Fest at the Pennysaver Ampitheater. He actively studies music, earning his Bachelor's degree in Performance at Five Towns College in the Spring of 2016. He is currently in the midst of completing his Master's degree in Music Performance at Five Towns College, which will be completed December 2017.
