Bryan Bisordi

Throughout his professional playing career, drummer and percussioninst Bryan Bisordi has performed with a wide range of musicians. These experiences have taken him all over the US and abroad, led to television and radio appearances on the BBC (UK) and RTE (Ireland), and included performances at Lincoln Center and Hammerstein Ballroom in New York, Blue Note Jazz Clubs in Japan, and hundreds of other venues in NYC and around the country. As a percussionist, Bryan is called on to perform in theater and with professional symphony orchestras and percussion ensembles.

In 2005 Bryan recorded with hip-hop group Othello and the Hipknotics for Japanese label Miclife. The resulting album, "Classic," was well received and lead to a national tour of Japan performing at Blue Note Jazz Clubs. 2007 saw tours in the south and Midwest with Andy Friedman and the Other Failures, a country blues poet and artist. In 2008 he joined Nell Bryden’s band, a country rock band from NYC, which led to multiple overseas tours and showcases in London, Glasgow, Dublin, Edinburgh, Manchester, and Amsterdam. Most recently Bryan has been performing with dark art pop artist, Hesta Prynn, on two tours opening for Bear Hands and 30 Seconds to Mars, and another through Europe in support of her recently released single. Along with touring, Bryan appears regularly with around a dozen groups in the New York area spanning many different genres.

In 2009 and 2010 Bryan had the honor of accompanying Bryden on two USO tours performing for US troops in Iraq. Not only was this a valuable musical opportunity, it was also a life changing experience. Bryden's 2009 release “Live in Iraq” is comprised of recordings from the first tour, and the recent documentary, “Striking a Chord,” produced by Sue Cohen Rockefeller, features footage of Bryan and the band’s second tour.

Bryan also performed regularly as a classical percussionist in the Seattle area, appearing as a section percussionist with the Northwest Sinfonietta, Bellevue Philharmonic, and Tacoma Symphony Orchesta. Since relocating to New York, Bryan has performed with the New Jersey Percussion Enesmble and IKTUS Percussion Quartet in works by John Cage, Steve Reich, Fredereic Rwezski, and Jefferey Krezky. He is also called on for theater productions, including Tick Tick Boom at the Westport Theater.

Along with drums, Bryan can occasionally be seen playing bass guitar, at least with anyone who’ll let him. It started in 2006 when his bedroom practice room began to anger the neighbors. After some nasty threats and a few tense visits by the local law enforcement, Bryan decided to try an instrument with a volume knob.
