Caleb Wheeler Curtis

Caleb Curtis is an engaging and entertaining alto saxophonist and composer. Born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Caleb studied with renowned saxophonist and educator Vincent York. Seeking further education Caleb enrolled in the Jazz Studies program directed by Rodney Whitaker at Michigan State University where he had the opportunity to study with many extraordinary musicians including saxophonists Wessell “Warmdaddy” Anderson, Diego Rivera, pianist Rick Roe, and trumpeter Derrick Gardner.

In 2007 the Caleb Curtis Quintet was one of six bands selected to attend Jazz Aspen Snowmass Band Academy. Caleb has performed at the Detroit International Jazz Festival, the Lansing Jazz Festival and has toured Japan (Osaka, Kobe, Nagoya, Kyoto, Tokyo, Narita) with The Michigan State University Jazz Orchestra. In addition, the Caleb Curtis Quintet performs frequently at Baker's Keyboard Lounge in Detroit, MI, the oldest jazz club in the world.
