With “Shade of Blue” Carlo shares his passion for music for an intimate audience.

LMGPOP is proud to announce the recording debut of Chicago based singer, Carlo Chapelle. “Shade of Blue” recorded over three years in Chicago, Indiana and Manila features an eclectic group of songs including several standards.

The acapella version of “The Nearness of You” which opens “Shade of Blue”, hints at the beauty of what is in store for you, the listener. Other highlights include “God Bless the Child” and the Bergman classic “What are You Doing the Rest of Your Life”, arranged especially for Carlo by well known singer/composer/arranger, Beckie Menzie. “Shade of Blue” includes covers of the Kevyn Lettau hit “Sunlight”, the guitar/vocal duets “Like a Lover” and “All Caught Up in Love” and the piano/vocal duet, “Any Other Fool”.

Born in Manila, Carlo started singing at the early age of 4! During his early teen years, he sang with a premiere church choir named "People, Precious and Few". His musicianship was honed with all the performances and workshops that he had to partake in during his tenure with the choir.

Moving to Chicago in 1991, Carlo finished the last 2 years of high school. Again, he was accepted into the school's top acapella group "Madrigal" wherein he did more outside performances.

As an entering freshman in Columbia College Chicago, Carlo got in to the college's highly selective Vocal Jazz Ensemble as an "alto". At the college, he was coached by one of Chicago's best jazz vocalists Bobbi Wilsyn.

Since college, Carlo has appeared at nightclubs such as Gentry, Cotton Club, Bailiwick Repertory Theater, Davenport’s, The Ramada Hotel, Petterino’s et al...

In 2006, Carlo was also honored by being the opening musical act for Philippine singing sensation, Regine Velasquez, during the latter's concert at the Gateway Theatre in Chicago.

In 2007, Carlo started work on his debut recording under the indie label LMG Pop.

November 2009 saw the release of Carlo's debut album called "Shade of Blue" via a one man show at Davenport's night club in Wicker Town, Chicago.

“Shade of Blue” was recorded at Chicago Recording Company and Steel Warehouse Studios. With this CD debut “Shade of Blue” Carlo shares the intimate moments from Carlo’s inner most feelings and is for those whose love is real, sometimes hard, most times soft to the touch; but always heartfelt.

Carlo continues to perform in and out of Chicago. He did a guesting stint at Katerina's (one of Chicago's intimate jazz clubs) back in June 2012 along with renowned jazz singers Joannie Pallato & April Aloisio with David O on acoustic guitar.

In July 2013, Carlo will be representing the USA for the World Championships of Performing Arts in Hollywood! Stay tuned. Show less
