Chad Morris

He is well on his way to becoming one of the greatest guitar players. The purity of the artistic content and the level of execution this young 21 year old shows will undoubtedly skew your opinion towards such. His work is amazing and it speaks louder than any description of his talent.

His horn like phrasing style possesses a completely unique sound all its own. He is a master of the guitar, and also plays bass, piano, violin and soprano sax professionally. Chad frequents “Sonny's Spot”, “The World Stage” as well as “Babes N' Rickies”, both jazz and blues clubs in Leimert Park, California. Morris' talent was evident at a young age. He performed a song he wrote for his elementary school at the “House of Blues” in the 5th grade. He had his first internationally distributed release at the age of 16, but in the genre of electronic music. Since then he has been making a name for himself in jazz and blues music. He has charted his self released material on many campus circuits in the east and southern U.S. staying on the charts for 28 weeks, reaching number 2 for two weeks.

A certified audio engineer, Chad is beginning to use his knowledge of electronic music to synthesize a new form of jazz, in which he programs straight ahead jazz drums with samples, letting him focus on crafting the melodic content to a very precise degree. He utilizes unorthodox guitar tunings and develops his own scales and modes, revealing new melodic extensions and variations that haven't been heard before. (Find the song “Ininrion” on the myspace music page) Although crafted on the computer, his idea is to use the computer's precision to create imperfection. The result is a unique band sound created by one person.
