Chris Clark Music

Chris Clark is a Brooklyn-based saxophonist, composer, and instructor. Equally comfortable performing in a wide variety of settings ranging from straight-ahead and modern jazz to free improvisation and pop/contemporary styles, he has established himself as a versatile and unique player within the realm of creative music. His debut album, Cedar Wisely, was released in March of 2013 on Vancouver-based label Songlines Recordings, alongside albums from notable jazz artists such as Bill Frisell, Dave Douglas, James Carney, and Tony Malaby. Chris has performed extensively throughout the Pacific Northwest and the Reno/Lake Tahoe area with his own ensembles and as a sideman, and since relocating to the East Coast has quickly begun to build a presence in the Boston and NYC music scenes. Also an experienced educator, Chris has directed large and small jazz ensembles at the university level, in addition to coaching high-school ensembles and maintaining a private teaching studio for the past six years. Chris earned his B.M. in Jazz Studies from the University of Oregon and his M.M. in Jazz & Improvisational Music from the University of Nevada, Reno.
