Chris Conway

Hailing from Michigan USA Chris Conway has built his career in the UK , becoming one of the most fascinating musicians on the scene. Chris Conway is active in many genres - electronic, acoustic, Celtic, world music, new age, singer-songwriter, and jazz all make up CC's musical world.

Chris Conway is a true multi-intrumental wizard playing...piano, keyboards, 9string acoustic & electric guitars, low, tin & twin whistles, live electronics, kalimba, theremin, zither, and vocals. He is a superlative jazz pianist. Modern, atmospheric ECM, blues, Latin and other styles mix, match & alternate. CC also is a wonderful jazz singer and writer of jazz songs. Brazilian jazz singer Ithamara Koorax has recorded one of his songs.

He has worked with a very diverse set of top musicians - He's toured with Peter Tork (ex-Monkees), and played with members of Jethro Tull and Fairport Convention, Gavin Bryars, Guy Barker, Andy Shepherd, Derek Bailey, Stan Sulzman, Martin Speake, Piirpauke's Sakari Kukko, and new age stars Llewellyn & Juliana. Tabla man Talvin Singh, violin virtuoso Dr L Subramanium and Brazilian jazz diva Ithamara Koorax.

He's played at the Cropredy Festival to 20,000 people twice, the Edinburgh Fringe 5 times and toured the UK, Germany and the USA.
