Cooper Nelson Cooper Nelson

A native of Sacramento, California, Cooper began his music education at the age of 11, quickly becoming an award winning high school saxophonist. Cooper continued his education at Cal State University, Northridge where he earned a Bachelor of Music in jazz performance. Cooper then attended the prestigious University of North Texas jazz program where he received his masters degree in Jazz Studies.

Cooper is a regular performer and teacher around the Dallas/Fort Worth area as well as the Sacramento and Los Angeles area. Cooper also arranges and composes works for several groups, including his own quintet, throughout California and Texas. His time at CSUN and UNT has given him the opportunity to study with Rob Lockart, Brad Leali, Gary Pratt and Matt Harris.
