Craig Schneider
A respected jazz artist, Craig has been featured at most of Australia’s major jazz festivals and has shared the stage with such jazz greats as legendary bassist Ray Brown, vocalist Marion Montgomery and Australian trumpet virtuoso James Morrison. Craig has released five CDs: Craig Schneider, 'S Wonderful �" Craig Schneider's Gershwin, The Start of Something Big, Swing Still Works For Me, which features 13 foot-tapping classics from the swing era as well as the original title track, performed by his swinging seven-piece band, and his latest album TRIO.
Craig studied classical piano from the age of eight before discovering jazz as a teenager and graduated from the Canberra School of Music with a Bachelor of Music in Jazz, also winning the Friends' Prize as the most outstanding graduate. He then completed his Master's Degree in Jazz Performance and Arranging and Composition �" the first degree of its kind in Australia.
A keen surfer, skier and international traveler, Craig’s most recent escapade saw him journey on the back of a dromedary deep into the Sahara desert.
