Cristobal Pinto

Cristobal Pinto is a Mexican jazz composer and guitar player. Pinto has a specialization in General Music Studies (Berklee Online), having Joe Mulholland, Bruce Saunders, and Rick Peckham as instructors. He is one of the main elements of the Guatemala jazz scene since 2017 when he published his first álbum: Deja Vu. With that record, he was invited to participate in large-scale events, such as:

Guatemala Jazz Festival (February 2018), Sofar Sounds GT, Jazztronomy (Wine and jazz music festival), Jalisco Jazz Festival (Guadalajara, 2018)

In the local scene, Cristobal has played with many great jazz players like Germán Giordano (Berklee Magna Cum Laude), Alejandro Álvarez, Antonio Monterroso (Mcnally Smith College) and several members of Imox Jazz Band. In 2018 he collaborated with Dina Ramirez (Guatemalan Saxophone player) in her álbum called: Conde Daniel (2018).

In 2018 he has also released his álbum: Maneki Neko. Is a gypsy jazz record that contains eight original compositions. It was recorded in one day in Guatemala at Perea Studios, and the Upright Bass was recorded by Emilio Aguilar (virtuoso bass player) from Austria. The album release was in the Dick Smith Theatre.
