Daniel Prieto

Born in 1978 in BogotĂĄ, Colombia. Made part of the ECUA collective, dedicated to the composition, diffusion, and interpretation of music by young colombian composers. Holds a BA in electroacoustic composition and a minor in electronic and time arts from the Universidad de los Andes. Has studied with the teachers Roberto GarcĂ-a Piedrahita, Catalina Peralta CĂĄceres, and has assisted to master classes and seminars by MesĂ-as Maiguashca, CoriĂșn Aharonian, Graciela Paraskevaidis, Tristan Murail and Philippe Manoury, among others.

His catalog contains tape music, mixed music and multimedia works that have been performed in several spaces in Colombia as well as abroad. He has perfomed live electronic improvised music with several groups, incluiding 'Ramalazo', with Juan Reyes and Roberto GarcĂ-a, and '3x3' with Rodrigo Restrepo and Daniel LeguizamĂłn, in conventional concert halls and different spaces, such as museums and art galleries. His collaborations with other artists include music for the dancer and choreographer Sandrine Legendre, sound design and interactivity programming in Max-MSP and Pd for the colombian artists Clemencia Echeverri, and Rosario LĂłpez. His commisioned works include the score music for the silent film 'Manizales City', by comission of the Colombian Filmic Heritage Foundation; and '(O)MapalĂ©' for guitar and live electronics, by commision of the Uiiachi duet.
